Christmas is coming!

I am so excited for Christmas this year! Chloe LOVES the Christmas tree and music that is always on at our house. She also loves to look at the presents under the tree. She is really good at singing Christmas songs too. This year is going to be so fun! Here are some fun pictures of our festivities! The first one is the super cute Advent calendar Jeff's grandma made for Chloe. Next is how much fun Chloe had when we got the Christmas tree out (she was more interested in the box)! Then, our awesome Christmas tree (also provided by Jeff's sweet grandma)! And last is our cute tree skirt that Chloe picked out (She loved the Penguin)!

Thanksgiving Time!

I wanted to make sure I posted about Thanksgiving during November...unlike Halloween. Oops! Anyway, we went down to Orem and spent time with Jeff's family on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Jeff's aunt and uncle were visiting from Las Vegas, so that was great to see them. We played a lot of Dr. Mario on the 64 and went and saw Harry Potter. After a big and tastely Thanksgiving lunch, we were able to go up to my family's Thanksgiving party. Our family is so big that we always celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas at a church. While we are there, we square dance, play basketball, sing, and eat all the time. It's crazy, but that's my family. Below is a picture of the thankful tree Chloe and I had been working on each day of November and a picture of the cute turkey that was made by my little sister (keep in mind that the turkey is a couple of days old and Jeff had already started eating him before I took the picture)! Holidays are the best!

A Thankful Heart!

I have realized in the last few days how truly blessed I am. I won't go in to details, but I encourage you all to think about your lives and really count your many blessings. There are so many people in the world that don't have nearly as much as I do and yet I take simple things for granted. I was complaining this morning because my house was down to 64 and my heat wasn't working, but at least I have a place to live that does protect me and my family from the cold. Every night, Chloe asks for medicine...how thankful I am that we have medicine! I didn't want the hassle of putting up our Christmas tree and trying to convince Chloe not to touch the ornaments, but my cute friend doesn't even have one but isn't complaining. I need to be more thankful, and not just during this time of year.

Stay tuned for a post on my cool Advent calendar that my friends and I have been working on this past week. It's cute and we made it all by ourselves! I love this time of year!!!

Happy Halloween!

We had an awesome Halloween! We spent the day with Jeff's family and had a good time there. After, we headed to my sister's house and had a yummy dinner. It's been a while since my whole family has been all together, so that was really fun!

Jeff was static cling (if you couldn't tell, those are clothes stuck to him), I was a princess, and Chloe was the cutest little candy corn witch you have ever seen. Yes, all 10 adults took these 3 kids Trick or Treating!

My parents rocked the Ketchup and Mustard costumes! My dad was worried about it, but I did see a young guy in my complex that was dressed as Mustard, so it must be cool! Brittany was Snow White (and some of the kids in her ward thought she was the real thing), Jack was a terrifying shark, Lucy was a pretty peacock (now Chloe calles the peacock in her book Lucy) and the big green Gumby is Markus!!! Awesome!

Kristin and Chad were on a wild safari when the spotted a cute little lion! Then we have Ali the Gangsta and Todd the Savage (yes, he is wearing tights)!
The kids did great even when the weather wasn't ideal. Chloe would sit down in the middle of the sidewalk and want to eat the candy right then. Jack, on the other hand, knew exactly how to work the system. He tromped along ahead of everyone else. He didn't want any help! It was very cute!
I know for a fact that I have eaten more of Chloe's Halloween candy than she has. Her pumpkin is sitting on the dryer and she doesn't even know it. I don't think she even remembers how much candy she got. She still goes around saying "Trick or treat!" Halloween is so much more fun with little kids!

Temple Trip and Trains

Last Monday night, Chloe and I picked up Jeff from work and went to Temple Square. Chloe has always loved temples so when she got to walk right up to one and touch it, she could hardly contain her excitement. She had to sit on every bench we found and go up each staircase. It took a while to walk around the temple, but it was wonderful to watch her eyes light up at each new corner. She also really liked riding on the "Choo-choo," aka Trax. It's a good thing we went last week because we would have been trudging through the snow if we waiting until today. YUCK!!! No, I love the cold because I get to wear warm clothes. But I also hate the cold. If I had to define my relationship with the cold, in Facebook terms, it would definitely be complicated! So, for this week's FHE, we went with some friends to see Toy Story 3. This was the first time we have taken Chloe to a movie theater and I must say I was really impressed with how well she did. Chloe is the best! Here are some fun pictures from our FHE and I can't wait to post cute Halloween pictures in a week!

She loved the water fountain!

A nice trip on Trax

A small glimpse of Eternity

The first, but not last, bench!

Witch-A-Palooza

Since Jeff hasn't come home much before Midnight this week, I've decided I am just going to have to live my life without him. So today, Chloe and I went with Lucy, Jackson, B, Grammy and Pampa to Witch-A-Palooz at Gardner Village. They have all of these crazy awesome displays of witches. If you find all of the witches, you can get a cookie. The kids loved it and we all had a good time. Chloe fit right in! She loves being a witch and carrying around her wand and wearing her hat. She is so adorable. Cousin Lucy is a peacock (I know, random, but that's what she decided on) and Jackson is a shark. I don't have any pictures of him in his costume because he was just way too hot in it! If you get the chance, go see the witches at Gardner Village! I'm excited for Halloween to come!

Lucy is waving HI, but the other two are in their own little worlds!

I love Chloe's wand!

It's a good thing there were cookies at the end or else we wouldn't have been able to keep the kids there as long as we did!

As I promised...

Ok, I finally got the CD of our family pictures and put them on my computer! Here they are...

Aren't we so cute? Anyway, I guess I can update a little more, since I'm already on. Life has been good! I have a job...I babysit a 9 month old boy named Ashton. Maybe you knew that..oh well. He comes over 4 times a week for 6-8 hours a day. It's nice because Chloe would rather play with him than me. I don't know what to do with myself.

A couple of weeks ago, Jeff was able to take the day off (shocker!) and we decided to go to the temple. As I was getting ready, Chloe decided to grab my flat iron, that was on, and burned her fingers. We ended up not going to the temple because she was so sad. That's why her fingers are bandaged in this picture...

That's really all that is going on in our life right now! I am very proud of myself and I must brag for a moment. I took Chloe and Ashton to the library today for story time. For those of you who are laughing at this insignificant event must not know me very well. I am very nervous taking my kid anywhere...so to take her AND another kid together was a big deal! It was fun but I am glad I only have Chloe!

Single Mom

For those of you who don't know anything about accountants, right now there is a big tax deadline September 15th. This means Jeff works all the time. Chloe only gets to see Jeff if he accidentally sleeps in. Last night he didn't get home until 11:15 pm. Since Chloe goes to bed at 7:00 pm, I decided I needed to come up with something more productive than watching pointless tv all night long. So I've taken up indexing. Indexing is where you download copies of different records (like censuses, war draft cards, etc.) and take important information from those documents and put them in the computer so people can search for their ancestors and have this information pop up. It is super easy! Last night, while I was watching/listening to Sweet Home Alabama and The Count of Monte Cristo, I indexed 420 names. Not bad for a first timer. Doing this helps me feel like I do more than teach Chloe her ABC's. Anyway, that's how I spend my time while Jeff is counting beans well into the night. On a lighter note, we are having family pictures tomorrow with my family and I am so excited. I can't remember the last time we had professional family portraits taken. It's only because there are grandchildren now! I will post some of those soon. While you wait, enjoy pictures of Chloe in a tutu!

All Grown Up!

I can't believe how grown up my little Chloe is. She is so independent....and most of the time that means more work for me. For example, she has to feed herself and she LOVES yogurt. You can't even imagine the mess I have to clean up after every breakfast! But it is terribly difficult to get mad when you look at her pudgy cheeks drenched in peach yogurt! She also has to walk everywhere WITHOUT holding mom's hand. It takes us at least 10 minutes to walk down the walkway just to get to the pool. But once again, she is just too cute to get mad at. I do want to share my favorite recent Chloe story. We went last night to say one last good-bye to our friends Angie and Preston. They are on their way to Florida for schooling. Anyway, Angie's son gave a bag of cookies to Chloe to take on the road. I decided to let her hold them in the car but I was not going to open them. She had been in the car about 10 minutes when I had to stop to get gas. I turned the car off and turned around and Chloe had the biggest guilty chocolate grin you have ever seen. That little goob got the bag of cookies opened and was chowing down as fast as she could. I wish I could have gotten a picture of that smile! It was the best! Anyway, here are some updated pictures of my little one not being so little anymore!

Jeff is home...and studying?

For those of you who don't know, Jeff has finally started his real job with Ernst and Young. His first day was July 6th, but he had training in LA and actually flew out on the 5th. He stayed there until Friday night (the 10th), came home for 36 hours and then flew out for more training, to Chicago, until the 16th. Poor kid had a rough and boring time. He had meetings all day, a kind of crazy roommate in LA, and the hardest time getting to and from Chicago. Jeff's plane was scheduled to leave for Chicago on Sunday morning at 10. First it was delayed until 11:30...then 2:00...and then canceled all together. He then was put on standby for the 5:00 and 7:00 planes, but didn't make either of them. He finally managed to fly to Minneapolis (while his luggage flew to Chicago with out him) and stay the night there and fly out quite early to get to Chicago in time for meetings. I figured it was the Lord's way of making Jeff and Matt (the other new hire from Salt Lake) not have to work on Sunday. Then, to top off getting to Chicago, when Jeff opened his bag, he found out that his electric razor had been turned on and died and he didn't have his charger! He had a long week but about died when he tried to check in to the airport Friday night to get home just to find out that his itinerary had been canceled. Talk about heart attack! He wasn't very pleasant to anyone at that time, but they managed to get him on the overbooked flight anyway.
So, he did make it home and Chloe and I are very glad to see him. Don't get me wrong, we had a fantastic two weeks mooching off Mammy and Pampa and partying all the time with Lucy and Jack, but it was nice to sleep in our own beds with Daddy near by. Saturday morning we decided to go swimming at our complex's pool. Chloe loved it! She was so cute in her little swimming suit with her turtle floaty! But, now that Chloe is sleeping, Jeff has decided to STUDY! What the heck? He graduated in April, but here I am doing nothing because he has to study for his CPA exams. What is the world coming to? BORING!!! We are a lot closer to being real people then we have ever been in our lives but man is it boring. Good luck to those of you on your way to being grown ups...it stinks!

P.S. The new background is for my husband, Jeff! He told me that one of his conversations in Chicago turned to Twilight and Jeff told everyone that he was "Team Jacob." He really has no idea what he is talking about when he says that, but he loves to see the reactions of people around him. He is the funniest guy I know! I love him so much!!!

One of these days...

Ya know, one of these days I am going to be so caught up on my blogging that not all of my posts will be to catch you up. I am currently home alone while Jeff and Chloe are visiting Jeff's family for Father's Day. I didn't go because I am sick. I have had a terrible sore throat since Monday night and I haven't been able to sleep much since then. I am a zombie, but I literally cannot sleep because the pain in my throat is too much. Anyway, that I why I am updating...I have nothing else to do. We are having a great time with our little family. I did tell you that we were going to Virginia, but things didn't work out. Which, seeing how sick I am, I am grateful for. I would be stuck in Virginia right now, super sick, waiting for my family to come back after visiting all of the cool things in DC. So, I'm sad we couldn't go, but I'm glad I am at home while being so sick. Despite my health, I couldn't resist the temptation of my family going to Lagoon with out me. So, yesterday, my family went to Lagoon and I did to. It's quite a different experience riding scary rides but not being able to scream. But the best part was spending time with the family. We had a good time. We weren't all there because my brother, and his wife, we at the hospital having a baby. That's right! Little Isabelle Marie Savage was born last night at 9:15. Unfortunately I didn't get to go see her in the hospital today with the rest of the family. But she is so cute! That's the latest in our world. Here are so photos I've been threatening to put up for a while now. See ya!

The New Apartment

Well, as you have probably figured out, I am not very good at this whole blogging thing. But I am really trying to get better. My current excuse is that we haven't set up internet in our new apartment so I can only get online if I go to my parents' house. So, here's a quick update. May 8th, we moved into an apartment complex in Midvale. It is right by trax so Jeff can get to work and I can still have a car. It's great! The ward is definitely on the older side. The first announcement I heard in Relief Society was "Someone left there walker in the bathroom..." It was pretty funny! We are enjoying the new place and watching Chloe grow. Jeff will be starting with Ernst and Young on July 6th and we are very excited for that. Until then, we are just hanging out. We are planning on taking a trip to Virginia at the end of June, so I will have something worth blogging about then. I have tried to upload pictures, but it's not working right now. I'm sorry!!!!

Catching up

This is going to be a brief update of our life so I can catch everyone up to where we are now! Jeff and I decided to save some money by moving into the basement of his parent's home. It has been great! Chloe is getting to know her Aunt Chels, Uncle Dallin, Nana and Papa so much and she is absolutely loving it. We moved in on the first of January and we are planning on staying here until Jeff starts working at Ernst and Young (which we hope is in July)! Chloe turned 1 on January 2nd and was finally able to meet her Uncle Todd the day before that. We celebrated Chloe's birthday and Todd's homecoming together and it was a blast! Chloe didn't like her birthday cake...which was quite shocking! She is a big eater! She knows how to sign 'more' and does it whenever someone starts walking to the kitchen! Other than that, I life is basically the same from day to day. But, be excited because I am just about ready to post pictures of my amazing finished scrapbooking desk!!!

So, Yesterday was a pretty eventful day! Jeff and I were called to teach the 16 year old Sunday School class. I am very nervous because I remember being 16 and how much I loved going to church. Not to mention we are teaching the Old Testament...But we really are excited! Jeff is an amazing teacher so I am grateful to have him. I told him I would provide the treats and he could do the rest! He didn't think that was a very good idea. Jeff's brother, Dallin, is in that class and he is super excited that we are now his teacher. I will let you know how the first week goes!

As for Chloe's big day Yesterday, she finally stood up on her own. She has always been a little slow in the development stages of life. Not that she is 'slow' but I think she's more stubborn (like me). So, it took her longer to start sitting up on her own, crawling, talking, etc. Now that she is almost 14 months old, she has decided to start walking. She is getting better at walking while holding my hand and she even ventures out to use her toys to stand up. It was so exciting to see her stand all alone. It's not big, but it is to us! Thanks for sharing in my pride and joy!!!

Our Favorite Presents

The first noise Chloe learned to make was that of a monkey (Ah! Ah!) so I searched high and low for the perfect stuffed monkey. I dare say it was her favorite Christmas present. But, she also really loved the See 'N Say from Grammy and Pampa! She is simply the cutest! I can't speak for Jeff, but My favorite present was the scrapbooking desk he designed and built all by himself. I didn't know he was so talented! I will post pictures of the finished product soon!!! Isn't my family amazing?

Merry Chirstmas!

This was Chloe's first Christmas and our first Christmas morning just as a little family. The last couple of years have been spent sleeping over at our families' homes, but we decided this year to do our own thing. It was so great! Chloe, of course, had no idea what was going on, but she seemed to have fun once she learned how to rip wrapping paper. I had to literally keep Jeff from going to wake Chloe up at 6:00 a.m. and from going to open his presents with Chloe. It was like having two kids instead of the one. After we had our morning, we headed over to Jeff's parent's house to find everyone still in their PJ's and all presents still under the tree. So we were able to participate in their Christmas morning as well. After that, we went to my parent's home and hung out there for a while. Spending holidays with family is the best!
