Catching up

This is going to be a brief update of our life so I can catch everyone up to where we are now! Jeff and I decided to save some money by moving into the basement of his parent's home. It has been great! Chloe is getting to know her Aunt Chels, Uncle Dallin, Nana and Papa so much and she is absolutely loving it. We moved in on the first of January and we are planning on staying here until Jeff starts working at Ernst and Young (which we hope is in July)! Chloe turned 1 on January 2nd and was finally able to meet her Uncle Todd the day before that. We celebrated Chloe's birthday and Todd's homecoming together and it was a blast! Chloe didn't like her birthday cake...which was quite shocking! She is a big eater! She knows how to sign 'more' and does it whenever someone starts walking to the kitchen! Other than that, I life is basically the same from day to day. But, be excited because I am just about ready to post pictures of my amazing finished scrapbooking desk!!!

So, Yesterday was a pretty eventful day! Jeff and I were called to teach the 16 year old Sunday School class. I am very nervous because I remember being 16 and how much I loved going to church. Not to mention we are teaching the Old Testament...But we really are excited! Jeff is an amazing teacher so I am grateful to have him. I told him I would provide the treats and he could do the rest! He didn't think that was a very good idea. Jeff's brother, Dallin, is in that class and he is super excited that we are now his teacher. I will let you know how the first week goes!

As for Chloe's big day Yesterday, she finally stood up on her own. She has always been a little slow in the development stages of life. Not that she is 'slow' but I think she's more stubborn (like me). So, it took her longer to start sitting up on her own, crawling, talking, etc. Now that she is almost 14 months old, she has decided to start walking. She is getting better at walking while holding my hand and she even ventures out to use her toys to stand up. It was so exciting to see her stand all alone. It's not big, but it is to us! Thanks for sharing in my pride and joy!!!

Our Favorite Presents

The first noise Chloe learned to make was that of a monkey (Ah! Ah!) so I searched high and low for the perfect stuffed monkey. I dare say it was her favorite Christmas present. But, she also really loved the See 'N Say from Grammy and Pampa! She is simply the cutest! I can't speak for Jeff, but My favorite present was the scrapbooking desk he designed and built all by himself. I didn't know he was so talented! I will post pictures of the finished product soon!!! Isn't my family amazing?

Merry Chirstmas!

This was Chloe's first Christmas and our first Christmas morning just as a little family. The last couple of years have been spent sleeping over at our families' homes, but we decided this year to do our own thing. It was so great! Chloe, of course, had no idea what was going on, but she seemed to have fun once she learned how to rip wrapping paper. I had to literally keep Jeff from going to wake Chloe up at 6:00 a.m. and from going to open his presents with Chloe. It was like having two kids instead of the one. After we had our morning, we headed over to Jeff's parent's house to find everyone still in their PJ's and all presents still under the tree. So we were able to participate in their Christmas morning as well. After that, we went to my parent's home and hung out there for a while. Spending holidays with family is the best!

The First...

Chloe is now 6 months old and we have been going on many adventures. I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of some of the things we have been up to lately.

June 23rd
This is Chloe celebrating, for the first time, Jeff's birthday! Even though he turned 25, this is the first one she has been around for. I took this picture and posted it as my profile picture on Facebook. Jeff absolutely loved it...and so did many others. She is just so adorable! How could anyone not like her?

July 7th
I took Chloe to her 6 month doctors appointment. Since the doctor's office isn't too far from our house, I decided not to take the diaper bag. BIG MISTAKE!!! Two minutes away from the doctor's office, I heard Chloe poo. And, since I didn't have the diaper bag, it leaked out into the car seat. Luckily they had a diaper and wipes I could use, but I had nothing to change her into. So, this was Chloe's first ride home in the nude (well, basically)! As you can see, she felt free and loved it!

June 15th
Chloe received her very first package in the mail. I can guarantee this will be the only package she will ever receive in her life that weighs twice as much as she does. She enjoyed lounging on it, using it as a perch, and sucking it! Jeff's sister, who is awesome, sent TONS of clothes that her daughter had outgrown. It was a lifesaver!

Chloe now has 2 teeth coming in and she loves to chew on everything! She got her first taste of chocolate (or at least the box it came in). We discovered her new teeth when she started sucking really hard on a wrapped fruit roll up. Her eyes were really big, and as we got closer, we could smell the strong scent of strawberry. I promptly took it away, and she got so angry. It looks like the only teeth she have are sweet!

July 10th
Cow Appreciation Day!
Chick-Fil-A gave away free meals to anyone who dressed up like a cow. We are poor college students with a new baby, so we will do anything for free food. I drew us up some heads, spots, and tails and we all got to choose any meal we wanted and we didn't have to pay. At first, people just stared at us like we were crazy. But, then they realized they were the crazy ones having to actually pay for their food. Chloe even got a free kids meal (that just means the boys got more food)! This is one tradition we are going to keep!

I just want to share two more ADORABLE pictures and then I'm done for today. Whenever we take Chloe out, there is always someone that comments on how happy she is. She loves smiling at strangers and just making everyones days just that much better! How could you resist smiling when this chunck grins her goofy grin?!

My New Hat!

Chloe rolled over, from her back to her tummy, for the first time yesterday!
Of course, she waited to do it as soon as my back was turned.
It's really hard for her because her tummy is so big!
So, to celebrate, we went on a shopping spree.
She picked out this really cute lady bug sun hat.
To thank me, she actually showed me today, on more than one occasion,
that she can actually roll over by herself!!!

Learning Quickly

It's amazing how quickly Chloe is learning all sorts of things! She loves to grab things, especially my chin. Here are some photos of her latest tricks...
She loves sitting up and being able to see everything around her. She still needs a little support, but who could blame her...have you seen that head?
When Jeff went to pick her up, she didn't want to let go of her toy. Look how strong she is!

Life Changing Days!

January 2, 2009

This was a very long day! Like I said, Chloe was stubborn, so I was induced. We went to the hospital at 6:00 a.m., the doctor broke my water at 1:30 p.m., I got my epidural at 4:30 p.m., and started pushing at 8:00 p.m. Finally, after the longest 2 HOURS of my life, little Chloe Grace Andersen was born. It was, with out a doubt, the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but also the most miraculous experience!

August 11, 2007

This was the day I married my best friend, my prince charming, the love of my life! The day started very early in the morning and I never stopped running. Everything was beautiful and amazing! It is a day we will never forget...of course we will be together forever, but it was also the day my brother hit our car as he was backing up my father's truck (this left a HUGE dent in the trunk) and we also got pulled over on the way to our honeymoon! (My new husband suggested we offer the police officer our left over eclairs, but I said no!) What a day/night!

May 13, 2007

I was having a pretty sad day today. I was trying to find a job, but there was nothing around. To make things worse, Jeff said he had to work late, so I couldn't see him until later. I was bummed when he picked me up, but started feeling better when he wanted to go up the canyon for a walk. He and his sisters had set up a beautiful candle light dinner just off a little trail. I started crying when he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him for time and all eternity!
