It's time!

Since I have successfully avoided posting anything in April and May, I have decided to do a little catching up! (What else is new, right?) The following is a very brief cap on our life the last two months, so bare with me...
Easter was spent on an awesome camping trip with my family! Jeff, Chloe and I rented a small RV and drove down to Arches National Park. It was fabulous! Chloe loved hiking and playing in the dirt and I loved having a potty near my bed! (That's really the only important thing while you are pregnant!)

Here is Chloe's first experience at Delicate Arch! The first picture was taken the first night we got there. My dad and Jeff decided to go up at 8:00 pm...and take Chloe too. She did a lot better than I did. I couldn't help but worry about them the whole 2 1/2 hours they were gone. So yes, Delicate Arch is just to the right of Chloe in the dark picture, you just can't see it. The next time, we all went as a family. Poor kid pooped at the beginning of the hike and just kept saying, "My bum!" All the way to the top. She still mentions the infamous diaper change up at the arch!

This day/place was really windy! With all of the sand flying around, we tried our best to keep Chloe protected! At first, she really hated the cover over her. But she loved it once we called it her "cougar cave!" She's awesome!

By the end of the trip, she was worn out! It was the best Easter ever!

NEW BED!
We decided it was time to move Chloe into a 'big' bed. It really is small, but to her, it's big! I bought it on KSL and she has slept in it just great...for the most part!

She has always done really well during the night in her new bed. Even when she wakes up in the morning, she doesn't open the door until we come get her. Naps, on the other hand...

A couple of days ago, I found that she had stuffed a few wipes under the door before she went down for her nap. She also got out a diaper cover and proceeded to dress herself for nap time. She is so funny!

CHLOE'S HOBBIES
Chloe is a well rounded kid...physically and characteristically!

Chloe has always seen Jeff work out, and sometimes myself, and participated the best that she could. One day she really wanted to get on the stationary bike with Jeff, but that wasn't going to help him at all. So he rigged up her own bike!

Chloe likes to play all kinds of games, but her favorite is hide and seek! She even will play by herself. She ends up sitting in the dark cupboard for awhile. It really is a nice break!

Chloe is very musical! She loves to sing in the shower, in the car and at church! Here she is, rocking out to Rascal Flatts with her best friend, Monk!

BIG PURCHASES!
Sorry I don't have any pictures for this section, but I promise, there will be some at a future date. First off, I have an amazing husband! That is where this all starts! He gave me an iPad for Mother's Day, and I absolutely love it! I hardly ever turn on my other computers because I just love to use my iPad all the time!
So, in return, I gave him a motorcycle! Well, ok, we decided on it together, but I like to say it was from me. Our friends are moving soon and wanted to sell the husband's bike. So, the wives got together and collaborated and poof...both husbands have new bikes! Jeff just took his motorcycle to work for the first time today, and the guys in the office are so jealous! I'm not going to lie, he looks really good on it!
Last, but not least...we bought a house!!! YEA!!!! We have been house hunting for over a month now. To those of you who have house hunted before think, "that's not long at all." Please take into consideration that I am 7 months pregnant and have a 2 year old. So anyway, it was a long, frustrating time for me. We got really close to putting an offer on a great house, but soon learned it wasn't for us (there was an offer accepted 2 hours before we decided to put an offer down.) This was really hard for me! I really wanted to be done, but that was ripped right out of my grasp. So, I humbled myself and kept on going! We have ended up in a brand new house in Herriman, UT. The commute in only 30 minutes for Jeff and it's going to be a very cool community, once it's all done. Our house is built, but not finished. We are one of the first 5 houses to be built in the community, that will eventually take up 375 acres of land. It's going to be awesome! We went last Saturday to pick out counter tops, paint, cupboards, etc. It was really cool! So we get the cool new house and we get to pick most of the stuff that goes in it, but we only have to wait 45 days to move it! Crazy, huh? Anyway, there will be a lot more to come on the new house, I'm sure! Until then, if you know anyone looking to rent a 3 bedroom apartment in Midvale, send them my way!

THANK YOU!!!

Thanks to all of you who commented on my last post. I guess I was just feeling a little lonely. Jeff works a ton and I think it's starting to get the better of me. I am due August 4th and I totally thought I was having a boy! I had only been sick a couple of times which is so different than last time. So, I was a bit shocked when they told me girl, but I'm still really excited! When I told Chloe I had a baby in my tummy, she looked at me and then pointed to her belly and said, "Chloe has a baby too!" It's going to be so different, but I'm up for the challenge! Thanks again for all of you friends out there!!!

My Experiment

I have decided to do an experiment to find out how many people actually read my blog. I know I have some faithful followers and some that just have my blog down on their blog list to make them seem more popular. I don't care which category you fall in, I just want to see the reaction I can get from whomever reads this. To do this experiment, I need to make a long post about nothing in particular and then post a shocking picture at the end. I just want to see what people will do. I know that none of this makes sense, to those few of you who are actually reading, but humor me! Ok, I can't think of more to say so I'm going to post my picture now. Thanks for playing!

Isn't SHE cute? (Sorry I don't have any cuter pictures that I could post!)

Snow Day! Baking Day! Birthday!

While Chloe is asleep and Jeff is doing dumb work stuff, I figured it was a good time to update the blog! First, let's turn back time until November of last year. We had just had a huge snow storm and Chloe wanted to try out her new snow stuff!

Jeff was able to come home early that day and play in the snow too! I think it was too much snow for the first time out. Chloe was really unsure of it all and had a hard time walking in it.

She also wasn't sure how to react when she got some in her mouth, but she ended up having a good time!

Now jump to December! I was in charge of my activity days so I ended up making 8 dozen sugar cookies!

As you can imagine, this took quite some time. Chloe was doing pretty well for having to play by herself, at least I thought she was. When I was done, this is how I found her...

Drinking and naked with a drawstring purse around her neck. I promise that is only milk!

Another baking accomplishment occurred after Christmas. My parents gave me a wheat grinder, so I made my own wheat breat. I felt quite domestic! It was fun!

Last, but not least, I must post about Chloe's 2nd birthday! I can't believe she is 2 already. It amazes me every time I look at her. Anyway, here are some pictures of the festivities! (The cake was all Jeff!!!)

Holidays!

Well, I guess since it's a new year, I should change the background on my blog. But, I couldn't just change it without posting, so here I am. I have been trying to get this post to work for almost two hours and I am now giving up. I have some video clips of our holidays that I wanted to share, but you will just have to imagine them!

We had a wonderful holiday. We were able to spend time with both families and just relax! This year was full of surprises! First off, my four siblings and I collaborated with Dad to make sure we were all too 'busy' to have a small Christmas party. This kind of upset my mother, but she didn't think much of it. On December 23rd, she was surprised to find a pretty good group of carolers at her door. Not only did these carolers bring a tear to her eye, they also brought her dinner, convinced Santa to come, and all slept over! It was a small Christmas miracle!!!

Christmas Eve was spent with my extended family at my cousins' church. We had lots of yummy food, Santa came and brought everyone a gift, chimes, singing, accordion playing, and the nativity story acted out by the small children. This year, Chloe was Mary and Jackson was Joseph. They were so cute!

Jeff, Chloe and I had a small, quiet Christmas morning to ourselves. Chloe doesn't understand Santa yet, but she sure loves to open presents. As soon as she opened one gift, she wanted it out of the box so she could play with it. It took her 40 minutes to open the 4 gifts we had for her. Even though it took a while, she loved each gift we got her. Jeff and I exchanged our gifts, which were all wonderful, and then we headed over to my parents' house.

Here, Jeff totally thought he was going to get a wheat grinder from my parents. Which, I knew I was getting the wheat grinder, but I kind of led him astray. He was caught off guard when the first gift he opened were shotgun shells (Jeff doesn't own a shotgun)! My dad then let him open his Remington 870 28" barrel 12 gauge shotgun!!! My dad and I went in on the gift together and it was so fun to see the surprise on Jeff's face! While he was opening his gun, Markus (my brother-in-law) got a .40 caliber Glock. The Savage women rock!!!

Last, but not least, my father was able to open his 'big' gift from my mother. He got tears in his eyes too as he learned that he had Alta passes to take all of his kids skiing with him. He has wanted to go so bad, but it gets harder and harder each year! Overall, everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!!! It's going to be hard to top it this year!

Christmas is coming!

I am so excited for Christmas this year! Chloe LOVES the Christmas tree and music that is always on at our house. She also loves to look at the presents under the tree. She is really good at singing Christmas songs too. This year is going to be so fun! Here are some fun pictures of our festivities! The first one is the super cute Advent calendar Jeff's grandma made for Chloe. Next is how much fun Chloe had when we got the Christmas tree out (she was more interested in the box)! Then, our awesome Christmas tree (also provided by Jeff's sweet grandma)! And last is our cute tree skirt that Chloe picked out (She loved the Penguin)!
